Rajahal
Patriot Torqx 2 PT264GS25SSDR 2.5" 64GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) $55 shipped after MIR (expires 1/31/2012) Looks like a good unit for an HTPC or small cache drive. Link to comment

Johnm
Does unraid provide TRIM support? Or is there a way to implement it? at this time no. the the Kingston SSDnow V+ drives have firmware level trim for OS's like unraid if you're worried about Trim. I have been running a Crucial Sandforce since last august and have no issues as a cache drive. I have pushed over 12TB through it in just a few months see here i just replaced it last week with a vertex3 for better speed. I can now push at wire speed to unRAID from multiple sources or even while the mover is running. Link to comment
jumperalex
ah good info. from a write speed standpoint, for my cache drive, I can saturate my GB network with just a 640gb WD Black from a single PC ... and I am not worried about access while mover is running. not sure then what an SSD is going to get me [hmmmm] Link to comment
Rajahal
Other benefits of an SSD are no spin up lag (which can be very important for certain programs), lower heat production, and lower power consumption. Link to comment
