I've been running Unraid for a while now using some second hand hardware - just recently I've had a couple of drive failures. I replaced the first one with a new SeaGate model and everything worked fine after the array rebuilt. 

 

Another failure occurred but this time the replacement wasn't seen in Unraid, however moving it around to different SATA ports did get it to show, so I assumed it could be an issue with my PCIe SATA card, however replacing this didn't improve anything.

 

I've tried looking at some logs but don't really know what I'm looking for (I can see mentions of "SATA link down" which makes me think I'm on the right lines, but I don't want to keep throwing money at replacement parts) so I'm hoping someone here can help.

Please post the diagnostics after the problem and before rebooting.
