January 31, 201214 yr Pardon me if this has been discussed before as i cannot find the solution anywhere. When i use the power button (press once) to shut down UNRAID, how come the next time i switch on.. the array does not auto startup ? The configuration is setup to auto start array... However, if i use the UNMENU shutdown script, and power on after few hours or another day, the array can start up normally. Why is there such a weird behaviour ?

Why is there such a weird behaviour ? probably because the power button does not STOP the array first. Therefore, the shutdown of the unRAID array does not occur, and you must re-calculate parity since it is assumed parity is not in sync for whatever could not be written to the disks that was still in the buffer cache. February 1, 201214 yr Author Maybe i did not give enough details. When i press the power button once and about few minutes later, and i know the box has shutdown because the power LED is done and casing fans all switch off.... Now the question is why when i power on the box again, sometime the array is does not auto start ? Sometime it did startup successfully.. but not all the time... This can be disappointing when i wanted to watch a video with my big screen using the UNRAID box, only realised that the array is not started... And i have to launch my IE to login and start it... Worst still, sometime the box run a parity check after i start the array if i use the power button to shutdown.... I have already scheduled a monthly parity check.. so i do not want to run excessive tasks like this... I am using the Pro license...
