Slow Speeds (1.3mb/s)

Featured Replies

I just installed unRAID after considering other options such as zfs etc.

I was very happy how well the install went and how easy it was to get up and running.

I am currently running with unRAID 4.7 AiO.

When trying to copy files from my computers over the network I am getting 1.3mb/s write speed.

I only have 2 disks in right now (data + parity) while I test out the system.  I wasn't expecting huge speeds with out a cache drive, but this seems way below the 15mb/s I was expecting.

The network is a full 1gb network, cat 6 cables.  I have moved the server to be connected directly to the router to cut out any possible bad cable runs.

Copying of files between machines (not unRAID) typically see at least 30mb/s

Attached is my syslog please help :)

I have same issue..

Unraid 5.05 .. RCP 4224, ITMODE SATA card..

MCommander gives me 25 MB sec share to share and 45MB/s drive to drive..

still can't figure why 1.5MB over network..

but other VM are fine on same box

Not sure if this solves either of your problems, but here's something to check that explains why MC is fast, but PC-> unRAID is slow.

Especially slow transfer speeds over the LAN can be caused by having:

1. An ethernet switch which does NOT 'auto negotiate' speed.

2. AND a slow device hooked to the switch which only runs at 10Meg (or 1 Meg)...common examples are printers.

When these two happen together, without 'auto negotiation' all connections speeds are constrained to the slowest device.

If this is what's happening replace the switch. or turn off the slow device. or plug the slow device into a more capable switch (such as directly into a router port).

Paste the output of "ifconfig" and "ethtool eth0"
