Connectivity Issues on Unraid

Featured Replies

Hey everyone! Yesterday I posted here asking for help because my connection to the server seemed to be dropping every few seconds. I've since resolved that issue by simply restarting my router, but now I'm facing other connectivity problems.

I first noticed that with Plex, my connection kept dropping and coming back when accessing it remotely. This led me to look for issues with Plex, which resulted in nothing. However, I now started to notice that the whole server seems to be having issues accessing the outside. This happens for instance browsing Apps or plugins or updating them. Sometimes I can access it and sometimes I can't.

This seems to have started to happen at the same time I had other network issues with devices at home. On Monday, my main PC couldn't connect to ethernet until I restarted the router. The server, however, didn't have issues until I did that.

This leads me to believe it's something wrong with my router/ISP, but I can't figure out what. Logs show nothing that looks useful to me, albeit I'm definitely not knowledgeable enough to say that nothing useful is present.

I'd really appreciate if anyone could help out, as I'm completely out of my depth here. I leave you with my diagnostics and syslogs here.

Thanks!

There might be some apps that could help.  Searching 'speedtest' shows some that might give you some info.  They have some network monitor type tools in there too.

Nothing relevant logged that I can see, suggesting that it may be an external issue.

I'm assuming it's something on my router given the issues my other devices gave me. I can't however figure out what it is. I don't have any conflicting IPs.

EDIT: I checked my access point, to which my server is connected via ethernet, and on the devices list I see two separate devices with the same IP and different mac addresses. One of these mac addresses corresponds to the server one. I decided to remove the other one to see if it would fix it, but it seems it just made the server be entirely unable to connect to the internet.

Quick update, resetting Unraid's network settings seems to have solved the issue. I am now facing a number of different network issues, but I'm taking that up with my ISP
