SK360
Noticed slow speeds to my unraid box and opened the management console to find my 2nd array drive flashing red. Rebooted and it vanished completely... Reseated the cables and now it shows up. Ran a smart test and pulled the log, everything seems ok to me, anybody else? I think the ton of test aborts is because I kept refreshing the unmenu screen expecting to see results there not knowing I had to pull the report. smartctl 5.40 2010-10-16 r3189 [i486-slackware-linux-gnu] (local build) Copyright (C) 2002-10 by Bruce Allen, http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net === START OF INFORMATION SECTION === Model Family: Western Digital Caviar Green (Adv. SK360
The drive looks ok. Thanks for the response... unraid is rebuilding it now. Quote Link to comment
Joe L.
You submitted a request for a short test of the drive. It runs in the drive, typically finishing in a 5 minutes or so. There is NEVER any output from the initial request. Instead, you must request a SMART report after the test interval has passed. By continuing to press the "refresh" in unMENU, I suspect you were re-requesting a short test, and each request aborted the in-progress prior request as shown in the final smart report you posted. When requesting either a "short" or "long" test on a disk you will always have to manually pull the smart report after the test has completed. (and it will tell you in the report if it is still in progress) It appears as if the most recent short test passed. (guess you finally gave it the time it needed) # 1 Short offline Completed without error 00% 5422 - Odds are good you had a loose cable, and it is now re-seated. Quote Link to comment
