September 7, 20241 yr Hi all, I am having an issue with my VM that I never use to have as I had an NVIDIA gpu passthrough prior. I now have an AMD RX6800XT passthrough. When I need to shut down my Windows VM or reboot my Windows VM, I get no display. I tried installing the AMD Vendor Reset plugin which didnt help (Not sure if it needs to be configured or not). I notice when I look at the logs for the VM that I get "2024-09-07T04:31:47.658937Z qemu-system-x86_64: vfio: Cannot reset device 0000:0c:00.0, depends on group 32 which is not owned." in the logs. I dont have the audio side of the GPU passed through so that may explain that error. tower-diagnostics-20240907-1403.zip

Add sound card for the audio part.
September 7, 20241 yr Author Yea the audio was part of the problem. Turns out if your Video card has USB type C on it as well you have to pass through the whole lot Video card, Sound, USB controller and Bus controller. If you dont, the card will not reset.
