Mylo75 Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 Unraid Server M/B: Supermicro - X8DTL CPU: Intel® Xeon® CPU L5520 @ 2.27GHz HVM: Enabled IOMMU: Enabled Cache: 256 kB, 1024 kB, 8192 kB Memory: 12 GB Network: bond0: fault-tolerance (active-backup), mtu 1500 eth0: 1000 Mb/s, full duplex, mtu 1500 600 watt Power supply 4 8tb drives and 2 6tb drives What would be a decent energy efficient upgrade from this old server hardware I'm currently running. I'm running 12 or so dockers, 1 or 2 plex streams and 1 or 2 non gaming vms also leaving some room for extra future usage. Thanks in advance. Quote

You have also the opportunity to set the PowerLevel within the BIOS. My "old" i7-9700 is running with 45W. A cheap solution could be a 12600K running at 45-50W. And if you ask: Why (the hell) a 12600K? Well - it has 10 cores and 16 threads - good for your VMs 👍 Edited September 15, 2024 by Zonediver Quote
