My recent issue with Unraid which is now sorted thanks to a fellow member on here has led me to a new question (with another to follow in another topic)

 

How often should a parity check be ran.

 

is it something I should schedule for say once a month or should it be something that is done after every reboot?

 

Main question I guess is what do you guys the users do currently?

 

Its an array of 8 drives currently all 18tb apart from 1 14tb drive.

 

Cache drive if that makes any difference is a sata SSD 512gb.

I would say once a month is plenty for scheduled checks.    Many users only do them less frequently (e.g. quarterly).
