March 2, 201214 yr This may have been answered before but I could not find it. Has anyone ever looked at the new Kingston 8GB DataTraveler Micro USB 2.0 Flash Drive or the Lexar LEHZE8GBASBNA Echo ZE 8 GB USB 2.0 Backup Drive to make into boot drives? I was just curious since they are a very small form factor that will fit nicely on the back of the server without it protruding out very far. I read on the site that some thumbdrives do not work will and just did not wan to get either of them until I received some feedback from the forum. March 2, 201214 yr I have one of the 8GB Lexar drives in my car's MP3 deck and it's working great there - even at -30C. But I didn't think about using it on my unRAID... now I might just have to buy another... Stephen
March 2, 201214 yr The problem with some of these micro drives is that they do not have unique GUID's and therefore can not be registered for use with unRAID.
March 2, 201214 yr I remember reading that a lot of those micro usb drives are actually comprised of a micro sd card and an sd-usb adapter in one package. And in most cases, the micro sd card does not have a guid and the sd-usb adapters have non-unique guid numbers which limetech would not register.
