painfully slow read/write speeds on 5.14b, help please syslog attached.

Featured Replies

my unraid server has all of a sudden started transferring files really slowly, around 200KB/s read/write speeds. i've had the hardware running for a few months now with no changes. using my netbook or any of the wired clients. i've tried rebooting everything router, switches, homeplugs etc but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

specs are:-

hp proliant microserver, 3x 2tb wd green drives, 3gb ram, sandisk cruzer blade 8gb flash drive.

running 5.14b

i've attached my syslog any help will be greatly appreciated :)

The syslog doesn't show any problems. Post the current syslog.

i've attached another syslog, i moved a file from the server to a client and back, not sure if this was needed to highlight any errors etc?

the server was fine with streaming 720p videos over my network on smb last night, but reading/writing files using my windows clients is terrible.

many thanks for your help :)

Try disabling add-ons. The CPU may not have enough cycles to download and process without slowing files access.

i disabled all addons/plugins etc, this didn't seem to do anything so i deleted unmenu and all packages again still had the same prob, finally i ended up installing 5.12 to see if that made any difference but no joy there either :-\

would doing a fresh install onto my flash drive be of any help?

i haven't changed any settings on my windows machines and they all exhibit the slow read/write symptoms, so i'm assuming it must be the server

i've attached my current syslog to see if there is anything there, otherwise i'm pretty lost :-[
