November 8, 20241 yr Hello Unraiders, I have a question about splitting an NVMe M.2 SSD. Since my motherboard has only one M.2 slot, and due to limited space I can’t add a second NVMe SSD via a PCIe adapter, I’d like to know: Is it possible (currently, or maybe in Unraid 7) to partition an SSD? Perhaps also using ZFS? My goal is to run both Appdata and Cache on this single M.2 SSD. I’d really appreciate any constructive answers and advice! B.H.
November 8, 20241 yr Community Expert The term "Cache" is a misnomer. It's just the name for the SSD in a pool outside the array, the default name for the first pool is "Cache" and your appdata share will default to it. November 8, 20241 yr Community Expert You can’t do exactly what you describe but there is nothing that stops you using the same pool for both appdata and caching purposes.
