Parity Disk in error state & Disabled

Featured Replies

Woke up to an alert my partiy disk was disabled due to errors, see some other posts regarding it and people reviewed the diagnostics to determine if it is actually bad or not, wondering if its possible to have that done for me, I might try and review the diagnostics myself but admittedly don't know where and what I am looking for exactly.

Thanks!

It's not logged as a disk issue, could be spin up related, since it happened during a spin up, some Seagate disks and LSI HBAs sometimes have issues with that.

Smart short test shows no errors, however when I attempted to put it back in and rebuild parity it failed almost instantly. It did take maybe a minute or two then failed.  I can upload logs again, I actually remvoed it and put in my old parity disk to get it rolling again. I am going to run drive diagnostics offline so I can get my array running and protected again.

I hooked the drive up to my computer and tried to run a bunch of tests on it all which just fail instantly  Seatools etc.

Parity is reubuilding on my array with my old smaller disk happily, I am going to RMA this drive.

Thanks so much for the help!
