May 15, 200818 yr the 6 on the Intel chip are fine... the JMicron and SiL controllers are 2port controllers on a single lane, so only use 1 drive on each... =8
May 15, 200818 yr I bet you could get away with two drives on a single lane if you set the drives in devices to toggle across the controllers. I.E. Instead of having drive 7 & 8 on the JMICRON, set it so drive 7 is Jmicron, Drive 8 is sil, Drive 9 is Jmicron, etc, etc. arranging the devices so each subsequent read is on a separate controller/lane. I had good results doing this with some Promise PCI controllers on my ide systems.
