Server crash fans screaming in the night

Featured Replies

in the last 2 weeks i've been woken twice to my server (HP Proliant) fans screaming away.

i opened my laptop to login to the GUI and cannot login in... its like Unraid is offline.

with no other option i've had to pull the plug on the server.

After reboot it gives the unclean shutdown as you would expect and starts a parity check.

no new software has been installed in this time and i am at a loss to what causes this?

After the first time i put it down to computers misbehaving as they sometimes do, but a second time has me worried, anyone got an idea or something i can check?

Update:

I noticed there was a new unraid OS to upgrade too, since i did this 2 weeks ago all has been fine?
so it was either a bug with the last OS or a coincidence and by upgrading its overwritten some bad data.

Fingers crossed its been running great since.
