December 7, 20241 yr Hello all, Here is what I currently have for pc's and what I would like to do with them- Home- I have a desktop, Wife has a desktop, both on win 10 Offsite workshop- 1 desktop, 2 laptops. Both laptops on win 11, desktop on win 10 I would like to turn the Desktop at my shop into a "part time NAS". Boot into unRaid 90% of the time, Boot into windows when I need to use it(once or twice a week) Can i do this? I would like to Duplicate My home desktop F drive directly to a drive on the shop NAS, so they are an exact copy. Can I do this? I am 100% networked with Unifi equipment at both locations and will be using Unifi site to site VPN Thanks in advance!
December 7, 20241 yr Community Expert Windows and Unraid use different filesystems. Windows must not be allowed to access the Unraid disks when it is booted. Unraid can access Windows disks as Unassigned Devices using a plugin.

I do not store much local data on my shop PC as its mostly used for fusion 360 which is cloud based

Here is the section of the manual for VM's. https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/manual/vm/vm-management/
