MFA QR-code issues.

Featured Replies

I'm migrating away from authy, and disabled mfa. When I wanted to scan the QR-code in the new app it wouldn't scan with my phone. I tried with the ipad, it worked there. I finally made it work by clicking the "copy mfa link", and using the link to generate a new QR code using the Adobe free QR code generator. This seems like something that needs fixing.

Thanks for reporting. I'll take a look.

Same issue here. MS Autenticathor doesn't recognize the QR code. Following.

Also having this issue

The issue has been identified and is currently being tested internally.

If testing of this issue and a few other changes goes well, the fix is planned for release on Tuesday, February 18th.

You're likely seeing the Account site defaulting to the dark theme (the app detects your system preferences by default), which is where the issue occurs. It's a color contrast issue with the QR code against the dark background.

Temporary workaround until the fix is released:

  1. Go to the main Account Settings page
  2. Find the Theme setting at the top
  3. Set to light mode
  4. Go back to the MFA setup page and complete the setup
  5. After completion, you can revert the Theme setting to your preferred option

EDIT - 2025.02.19

Fix has been deployed. Please let us know there are still issues here.
