Changing ssd boot device.
Is this possible? Or do we need to reinstall to a usb temporarily before installing to a new ssd? It's working great for now, but I have two Optane drives I want to boot from. The licence is still tied to my USB, so that is still there as well.

[Support] ich777 - AMD Vendor Reset, CoralTPU, hpsahba,...
I have no issues with the official unraid now. I was under the impression that a later kernel was needed for someone to use a 9070. I'm just pointing out that there are options if they want to test it out. I see the kernel was mentioned earlier on the page, so I guess my input was a bit surpurflous. I'll add that the custom kernel doesn't support nvidia, so if your want that in the same system you'll have to stay on the official. He did say he just installed a trial license. I think people can tinker however much they want on a new install. It's a nice way to learn. I know having my hardware unsupported was quite annoying. Figuring out hw support is always smart before committing to a platform. If you are concerned about the contents of the server you should of course be careful about trying anything unoffical. Data integrety should always be priority one.

Just wanted to give a small tip. I used the custom kernel by thor2002 with great results to add Intel Arc support back when Unraid didn't support it natively. I just saw that he is releasing 6.14 kernels for unraid 7.0.1 now. Might be worth a look. Installing the kernel is very easy. Just backup the 4 files you'll replace.

MFA QR-code issues.
I'm migrating away from authy, and disabled mfa. When I wanted to scan the QR-code in the new app it wouldn't scan with my phone. I tried with the ipad, it worked there. I finally made it work by clicking the "copy mfa link", and using the link to generate a new QR code using the Adobe free QR code generator. This seems like something that needs fixing.

Two types of flash backup?
I have found it. Selecting 'flash' (under Boot Device) directs you to a page where you can initiate the creation of a larger backup. The button labeled "FLASH BACKUP" does not actually flash your drive; instead, it generates a new backup. A more accurate label might be "Create flash backup." Unraid Connect is responsible for creating the smaller backup version.

Two types of flash backup?
I recently had my usb drive die on me, and I had to restore my setup from my backup. Luckily I had one, and I was able to write it to a new usb drive and transfer my license. A success story. My question is about the flash backups. It turns out I had several types. The first one was around 600mb and named tower-flash-20241018-ddaf320.zip The other was almost 2tb, and named tower-v7.0.0-beta.2-flash-backup-20241006-0115.zip I restored using the larger one, and it was smooth sailing. It seems like it was a complete snapshot of my old usb drive. I just dont know how I made it. If I generate a backup using Unraid Connect I get the smaller version. Can anyone elaborate on the two types?

Intel ARC cards Quicksync - Does it still work the same as an intel processor in unraid?
I'm using a A380 in my unraid server. A custom kernel is needed for now, but yeah, it's just like any other Intel quicksync device. I have Plex and Jellyfin running and I just used the same guides you would use with any intel cpu.

I want to improve transcoding for Jellyfin
I don't think your cpu can transcode x265/hevc in hardware. Thats why it's locked at 100%. I use a Intel arc a380 card. You can find one on newegg now for $110. It's not supported by unraid until 6.13, but it will work great if you use a third-party kernel. Great bang for the buck.

nginx running out of shared memory
I've given up on having the page open. I just have btop running in a terminal to keep an eye on it now I didn't have a clean shutdown the whole first year I had the server running because of this bug.

Intel Arc support
I don't know how much airflow you're getting on those, but I sure needed a shroud+fan on the tesla in my 4U case. I have replaced the super loud original fans with some noctua nf-f12-industrialppc-3000-pwm. Not good enough for the Tesla. I have a NF-A4x20 on it to keep it happy.

Intel Arc support
I have a A380 working just fine in unraid. All I had to do is install the thor kernel to /boot. Basically just copy over four files. I run it without rebar as my mainboard doesn't support it. Plex works great normally, but is a bit picky about subtitles. As long as I don't have to burn in subs during 4K AV1 transcoding i'm ok. Another cheap option is to get a Tesla P4 off ebay. They are like $70-80? Seemed like a no brainer. Just make sure to add a way to cool it. It doesn't have a fan. It NEEDS a fan. Seriously. It will get super hot and will damage either your card or your mainboard. I got a 3d printed shroud and a noctua fan for mine, and it works great. It isn't listed as supported by the nvidia plugin, but it was, and worked as soon as I installed that. Just keep in mind that the thor kernel I used to get ARC working doesn't support nvidia, so you got to choose. I picked ARC. Having av1 support is nice.

[PLUGIN] GPU Statistics
That fixed it on my end! 👍 **** Updated the plugin, still ok👍

[PLUGIN] GPU Statistics
I'm having this issue too on a arc 380 card. Statistics addon not updating, but intel_gpu_top will happily show the data in terminal. GPU Statistics 2023.10.29d Intel GPU TOP 2023.09.13 I'm getting some info in /var/log/phplog that might be of use. Intel Arc support
It runs as intended in a docker if you use the kernel by thor. This is how I use it. I get AV1 support in Plex so that is pretty cool. I'm not sure if it is as performant as the nvidia tesla t4. I get some buffering when transcoding a 4k hdr to lower resolution sdr with buring in subtitles. If I skip the subtitles it is smooth. I seem to remember the nvidia not buffering in this scenario. I'm currently having too much fun testing av1 to switch back to test. If you use the official unraid release it will not support hardware video encode/decode. (You need the kernel to be 6.2 or later, the official Unraid is only 6.1.x.) Installing the kernel is as easy as copying four files to the boot folder. It will technically work as a video output in 6.1 but without hardware encode/decode. If you have two gfx cards and want to combine the thor kernel with a nvidia gfx-card it will not work. The nvidia driver will refuse to load. If you want to use nvidia stuff stay on the official release. ZFS is untested with the thor kernel. It's included, but none has mentioned testing it yet.
