March 29, 201214 yr Hi, because my mainboard get out of order i must buy a new mainboard. When i get in the next days my new mainboard i want to be good prepared. At now i have 8 disk, 1 parrity and 7 data. When i now buy a new mainboard a put the hdd on the sata port. Must the data disks have the same order ? That parrity disk must in slot 1 is ok, but the 7 data disks, must data disk 1 from now to datadisk port 1 in the new mainboard ? Problem is, my mainboard is out of order and i don´t know the datadisk order. Greets Eisi

If on latest beta version, unRAID should figure it all out on its own. If on an earlier version you'll need to use the disk model/serial number to assign the disks back to their logical slot on the array. (The physical slot does not really matter)
March 29, 201214 yr Author @Joe L. Thanks for your answer. That means that i must try which disk was before on logical slot 2-8, beacuse i don´t know it or stand this somewhere in the logfile, which s/n are one which logical port ? Greets Eisi

Greets Eisi Yes, you must know most importantly which disk is your parity disk. (the SERIAL NUMBER) That is on the unRAID main screen. A screen-shot of it today is all you need. (Or an old syslog will also probably have the information in it)
March 29, 201214 yr The data disks can be assigned in any order but this may effect share settings if they don't match the previous assignments. Only the parity disk must be assigned correctly.
March 31, 201214 yr Author Hi, thanks for your help. I will take a look into the logfiles. Greets Eisi
