January 2, 20251 yr I have a disk failed and was trying to rebuild it. But I accidentally chose "New Config" and now all disks appears as "New". Yes I read the warning on the New Config page, after I proceed. Is there any way to rebuild the failed disk / recover the data? PS: The array have not been started after New Config, so the parity disk and all other data disks are good.
January 2, 20251 yr Community Expert Solution You can do this: -IMPORTANT - Check both "parity is already valid" and "maintenance mode" and start the array (note that the GUI will still show that data on parity disk(s) will be overwritten, this is normal as it doesn't account for the checkbox, but it won't be as long as it's checked) -Stop array -Unassign disk4 -Start array (in normal mode now) and assuming the emulated disk mounted and contents look correct, you can rebuild, if it doesn't mount post the diagnostics.

Thanks JorgeB! Should I start the array with the failed disk mounted or the new disk mounted?
