January 13, 20251 yr Hi All, I searched but haven't found anyone else with a similar issue yet. I just updated to 7.0.0 with the Tailscale plugin already installed. I went to install Gluetun VPN docker container using SpaceInvaderOne's latest video but I'm getting an error when I go to enable Tailscale within the docker for Gluetun. The error is: "Existing TAILSCALE variables found, please remove any existing modifications in the Template for Tailscale before using this function!" This is my first time installing this docker container and using Tailscale within a container. I did have the Tailscale docker container before the plugin was available but I uninstalled that long ago in lieu of the plugin. Has anyone else run into this issue? -edit- I tried adding another container and enabling Tailscale. There were no errors. I also tried adding Gluetun with Tailscale on my secondary Unraid server and didn't get the error. The problem seems to be limited to Gluetun on this particular server. If there's any more info that I can provide, just let me know. Thanks in advance. Edited January 14, 20251 yr by supercore23 More info
January 14, 20251 yr I have as a similar issue. Except it is showing up in the UI itself. See screenshot. In my case I had an existing pihole container set up. I deleted it from unraid UI, deleted from "previous apps", and deleted from appadata. Oddly, when ignoring error and continuing setup there seems to be no problems. Still, I would like to know how to get rid of the error.

Please check if you got any variable starting with TAILSCALE_ in your template and delete them: (also don't forget to click Show more settings... in the template and check there too)
January 15, 20251 yr Thanks for the reply. A quick ctrl+f search on the the container config page (with all options expanded) shows no variables starting with "TAILSCALE_". Attached are the Tailscale advanced settings, with only the necessary "Tailscale State Directory" changes (error was present before state directory was even created). Also attached are the unchanged entries and "show more settings". EDIT: I realized my mistake that clearly shows "TAILSCALE_FALLBACK_DIR" as a variable. Edited January 15, 20251 yr by deedaleet

The variable name is TAILSCALE_FALLBACK_DIR. I removed this variable, installed the container, and now the error is no longer there. This seems to be the root cause of the issue. Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction.

Right at the bottom here: It is safe to remove that variable if you use the Unraid Tailscale Docker integration.
January 15, 20251 yr It seems we were all replying at about the same time! I realized my mistake and edited my post above in case someone else stumbles here. Removing variable "TAILSCALE_FALLBACK_DIR" did indeed solve the issue. Thanks ich777 and supercore23
