Wireguard for Linux

Featured Replies

For those who want to know..

In my quest to say goodbye to Windows I have decided to go with Zorin.

One Issue that I have had was the apparent lack of a gui to configure Unraid wireguard clients.

Then I came across this.

https://github.com/UnnoTed/wireguird?tab=readme-ov-file

It is called Wireguird.

It has a look and feel of the windows client.

I found that I had to unzip the unraid config file and install the .conf file instead of the entire .zip as you can with the windows gui.

I was wrong. Wireguird will accept the unraid generated client .zip file.

I also had to modify the tunnel name once imported so the the length was less than 15 chars.

The only other solution prior to this was via command line which is not convenient when you have multiple wireguard clients.

(Not sure how to mark my own post as solved. Meant to be informational. It took me a while to find a solution to this. Hopefully it may be helpful for others)

... ???
?
you can make and run a docker with a VNC access with a wireguard instance.

unraids implementation with WireGuard is there on the web UI...

review:

you could potentially run that your self on the host via booting Unriad with GUI and installing the necessary plugins/application to run in on the GUI...

you would need to find the Slackware equivalent... as your github points to a deb gui install for debain linux...

An explanation.

I posted a solution to no ones problem.

When using windows, the client available on the wireguard site provides a gui solution to access the clients.

The windows gui client allows you to set up connections for multiple clients.

The linux solutions provided on the wireguard site are commandline clients.

This makes the operation cumbersome if you want to manage say 20 unraid servers.

the wireguird app works as per the windows app for deb (aka ubuntu, mint, zorin distributions)

I made the post with the assumption that other linux users wishing to gain access to Unraid via wireguard could benefit from this client.
