Greetings Unraiders. Getting back into the scene after a loooong hiatus of 14 years. Ha! Looks like a lot and little has changed. The technology has improved, but the community is still the same close-knit crew.

I am here on the quest to build out a PLEX system and have unraid as a qualifier. Looking forward to doing some research and chatting with you all.

Maybe there are some old friends still hanging around here. :)

Welcome.

I just landed here myself, though first time Unraid user. I've only seen version 7, but its great so far.

Only a few more hours days ☠️ until everything is moved over.

Since your focus is on Plex, I'll share this plugin I came across yesterday.
Sounds like a nice piece of kit to save some watts and make things faster.

Tips:
- Dont forget the ECC memory. I didn't buy any, but it'll be fineee. 👀

- Consider an nvme cache pool. Its nice. The mover seems pretty good at moving stuff.

- Dark mode can be found under Settings > DisplayDynamix color theme .

There's really no point to this in a home server scenario.  It's expensive and you need a mobo that supports it.  To me it's overkill and not worth it.

Opinions vary.

If your budget is limiting, a good backup strategy is more important, but if you can afford it, ECC is an insurance policy.
