/usr/local/sbin/monitor_nchan: line 50: /usr/bin/pkill: input/output error

Featured Replies

Every so often I'm not able to access the webui or any of my dockers via ip. When I plug my monitor in I see "/usr/local/sbin/monitor_nchan: line 50: /usr/bin/pkill: input/output error"

The diags are after a reboot, enable the syslog server and post that after it happens again.

Those messages are not in the syslog, is the photo from the same time?

  • Author

Yes, the remote syslog server isn't logging any more data. This is what I see on the screen and corresponding syslog file. At the same time. I can't access the webgui. However, any plex streams that were already active are still active. I can access some docker containers through their ip but others I can't. Cannot login either.

Never seen this before, try booting in safe mode to rule out any plugin issues.

Would booting into safe mode cause this as well as all the errors in the syslog? Also, docker tab has disappeared from webgui. Weirdly though the previous input/output error isn't showing up.

Nope, the flash driver disconnected:

Try a different USB port, if the same, replace it.

I am now having the exact same issue.

I've moved the usb boot drive to a different location. From a port on the motherboard inside the chassis, to a port on the rear I/O plate of the motherboard.

I've ran chkdsk on the usb boot drive.

And I've even replaced the usb drive with a new one.

The problem persists.

Is there any solution known to this problem?

Today I replaced my motherboard, same model and revision number. Guess I'll see if that will fix this issue.

I'll report back in a week or two if this does, or does not work.

I'm the OP. My issue was the USB drive was failing. Replacing it fixed it.

Motherboard replacement didn't fix the problem either.
