February 5, 20251 yr Hi, I'm not sure what I'm missing. I have existing 2 disk zfs SSD cache both drives are 2T. I want to add a 3rd drive, NVE 2T, I can see it as a unassigned drive. When I try and add the drive and restart the array I get a Wrong Pool State cache - new device too small I'm just trying to expand the cache pool, what am I doing wrong? unraid 7 nas-mass-diagnostics-20250205-1022.zip Edited February 5, 20251 yr by Bushibot

It is always a good idea when asking questions to supply your diagnostics so we can see details of your system, how you have things configured, and the current syslog.
February 5, 20251 yr Community Expert First, note that adding another device to a zfs mirror, will create a 3 way mirror, not expand the pool, for that, you would need 2 additional devices, also, 40 minutes ago, Bushibot said: cache - new device too small This indicates the new device is smaller than the current ones.
