April 15, 201214 yr Hi Folks, Just changed my motherboard to a X7SPA-HF-D525, however the old MAC address is hanging around like a bad smell, after a search I've tried all of the recommended fixes, such as, unplug everything, leave for a while(15mins+) http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Replacing_the_Motherboard_in_Your_unRAID_Server http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=4741.msg43512#msg43512 Interestingly I don't have HWADDR= in my network config file, however I do have IPADDR=xxx.xxx.x.x(x= the IP # from the MB BIOS) Also tried having both HWADDR= and IPADDR= , just HWADDR=, just IPADDR= , and nothing at all. I dont have a Static set-up. If I need to change to this, please link to a good guide for doing so. I'd like the MAC address sorted as I want to use the IPMI feature of this board, and would like everything right. Advice appreciated
April 15, 201214 yr Author How does this problem present? Can you bring up the web GUI? GUI is fine, on the settings page is where I can see the MAC address does not match the one from the MB bios, which should be the one I'm supposed to see? Ran my first parity check on this MB overnight, no problems reported.
April 15, 201214 yr You should be able to add "HWADDR=MAC-ADDRESS-HERE" But I'm not sure that's required. If the old MB is not on the LAN, I would leave it alone. If the old MB is on the LAN, I would backup the Flash and reinstall.
April 15, 201214 yr Author Thanks, tried the HWADDR= setting but no joy, the old MB is not on the LAN, yet, but it will be later as it will become my HTPC, see what happens then I guess.

(after first rebooting your unRAID server) It is the one remembering the MAC address if you are not setting it specifically.

Just tried that, can't access the server afterwards from any device, PC, PS3 or andriod phone,
April 16, 201214 yr Is your computer connected directly to the router? If there's a switch in between try rebooting that as well.
April 16, 201214 yr Author Is your computer connected directly to the router? If there's a switch in between try rebooting that as well. No switch involved, it' seems to be working, so I will leave it. When setting up the IPMI I input the MAC address of the new motherboard(taken from the BIOS info) and it connected no problems. I will have to wait and see what happens after I get around to adding the old MB back into the network as my HTPC, thanks for the replies. I rang my ISP(as they are who I got the modem/router from) but they had suggestions other than to do a factory reset, which I will leave as a last resort.
