Yet another LSI firmware thread

Featured Replies

I'm sorry, I know there are dozens of similar threads and I've spent some time here and on Reddit and Google trying to find an authoritative answer but all I'm getting are years-old posts, broken links and frustration. If this thread is not allowed, I get it.

That said: I have acquired an LSI 9300-16i and I'm looking into firmware updates. It is already in IT mode (or at least I think so, based on the BIOS display showing 2 instances of  PRODUCT IDENTIFIER: SAS3008-IT on boot, and the seller said the latest firmware would be loaded, however the firmware seems to be dated from 2014: MPT3BIOS-8.15.00.00 (2014.11.06). Is that good enough, is it actually the latest? Should I pursue a more recent vintage for any reason?

Thanks for indulging me!

Thank you, that post was helpful. I had originally seen but skipped that one, as I haven't actually built up my Unraid machine yet. I was able to jerry-rig a temporary Unraid box to get the HBA flashed, though, and it worked great. Thanks again!
