JetKVM and unraidOS

Featured Replies

Hey folks,

I was wondering if anyone here has successfully used JetKVM with unraidOS.

I have two units, and neither unit actually works. I'm running unraidOS 7.0.1 on a laptop (Asus Zenbook 14X OLED Q420), but when I log in to JetKVM's web UI, I see the screen only partially. I can't log in to unraid because that part of the UI is not displaying in JetKVM. I've tried different EDID configurations, but none work. My laptop has a 2880 x 1800 screen, which is apparently not a very common dimension.

I don't know where / what the problem is, so I am trying to see if others have had issues with unraid and JetKVM.

Change the laptop resolution to something standard like 1920x1080 temporarily.

Edit: I will say that my JetKVM works if Im using my 3440x1440p 21:9 ultrawide (not the screenshot)

How do I change the laptop's resolution? I usually do this via the OS, but I don't know if unraidOS has this option.

Do you have an EDID for that custom resolution?

I did not realize you were RUNNING unraid on the laptop itself.  I assumed you were accessing the JetKVM webGUI from a laptop.

This is 100% an issue with the laptop resolution and the JetKVM cannot handle it. I'd hit up the JetKVM discord or Github and raise the issue. They might even already be working on fixing non-standard resolutions.

They allow you to use a custom EDID but I have tried to set it up and failed. I dunno how to set the resolution on the laptop.

Do you think I need to get in touch with the laptop manufacturer?

This isnt related to the laptop resolution. I have the same issue on my 4k monitor and my 1440p laptop.

Is there a solution in sight? As of now the JetKVM is not usable together with Unraid to work directly in the Unraid Shell :/
