April 23, 201214 yr I'm getting thousands of repeating Invalid Query Packet errors that look similar to this: Mar 9 04:40:01 Tower logrotate: ALERT - exited abnormally. Mar 9 04:49:50 Tower avahi-daemon[3511]: Invalid query packet. Mar 9 04:57:55 Tower last message repeated 12 times Mar 9 05:12:44 Tower last message repeated 20 times Mar 9 05:27:34 Tower last message repeated 12 times Mar 9 05:42:24 Tower last message repeated 12 times Mar 9 05:57:14 Tower last message repeated 12 times Mar 9 06:12:04 Tower last message repeated 13 times Mar 9 06:26:54 Tower last message repeated 13 times Mar 9 06:41:44 Tower last message repeated 13 times Mar 9 06:56:34 Tower last message repeated 13 times Mar 9 07:11:24 Tower last message repeated 12 times Mar 9 07:24:02 Tower last message repeated 12 times Mar 9 07:25:25 Tower last message repeated 6 times Mar 9 07:26:31 Tower last message repeated 25 times They just keep going and going. I had to cut out part of the log because it was too big, but the section I removed was exactly the same as the errors above. I'm running v5.0-beta7 and everything has been working perfectly as far as I can tell. Thanks! Syslog_v5-beta7.txt
April 23, 201214 yr no clue but did some google searches. What is Avahi? ¶ Avahi is a system which facilitates service discovery on a local network via the mDNS/DNS-SD protocol suite. This enables you to plug your laptop or computer into a network and instantly be able to view other people who you can chat with, find printers to print to or find files being shared.

April 30, 201214 yr Author I followed the link in post #46 to the debian bug website and unfortunately, it's way over my head. I wouldn't even know where to start. Thanks for the help though!
May 1, 201214 yr I've never tried it...but you could ask Weebo or modify this: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=14209.msg134880#msg134880
May 1, 201214 yr Author The latest beta has a newer version of avahi. I'm a little hesitant to upgrade, only because the box has been running flawlessly for months and months. I'm just afraid to change anything. Are the errors cosmetic or do they need to be addressed? From what I've read from your links mbyranr, they seem to be cosmetic and more of an annoyance than something that needs fixed.
May 1, 201214 yr Cosmetic...and the other link provides a potential method of not logging those lines.
May 1, 201214 yr Author In that case, I think I'll just leave everything alone for now. Thanks again for your help!
