Change USB flash drive before purchase

Featured Replies

Hello,
I did the one-month trial with the first usb key I had on hand, but the physical format is not practical, and I don't trust this free drive I received at a trade-show.

I finally have time to finish my setup, but the trial is now expired (1 month 9 days), so I can't upgrade the flash drive. And I have an error when I try to extend the trial (Error: Trial extend)

I have a new flash drive (flashed with the latest OS). I'd like to:

  1. Change the flash drive
  2. Reset unraid but keep all the data in the array
  3. Purchase and enjoy unraid

Otherwise, can I start a new install from scratch, but keep my data in the disk? Do I have to create a new account entirely?

I don't want to buy and then try the migration, I want to be sure that it works first.

Thanks in advance for the support,

You can do that, just create the new flash drive with the USB tool and copy the complete /config folder from the trial, then purchase the license, and before array start, reset the array assignments with Tools - New config, after just be careful to not assign any previous data disk as parity, or data will be lost on that disk.

A screenshot of your Main page is probably the best way to limit the risk of error while reassigning the drives .
