April 7, 20251 yr Community Expert Long story short: I moved all the split-among-drives-in-the-array data of a certain share to a new, standalone pool disk. Then I've edited the share config to just use this pool (and 2ndary=none). There are no remaining empty folders elswhere on any other drive. But still it does not turn on "exclusive share" and creates a symlink. Instead the folder is still managed by FUSE... How to get rid of FUSE here ? (To overcome it I plan to create a new share on that disk, move over all the files and then delete the old share. Later on renaming the new one to the old name. But there must be an easier way...)
April 7, 20251 yr Community Expert Have you enabled Exclusive shares under Settings->Global Share settings?

If you post your diagnostics then we can see which drive this might be (and mention the share name).
April 7, 20251 yr Author Community Expert tnx for your help. Unless I am blind (almost 🙂 ) there is no 2nd folder left But see yourself... The share I am looking for is called "Backup" (yeah, not very innovative I know 🙂 ) f-diagnostics-20250407-1414.zip Edited April 7, 20251 yr by MAM59

April 7, 20251 yr Community Expert You are right - according to the diagnostics the Backup share is all on backpool so no obvious reason why it is not an Exclusive share. Have you restarted the array (or rebooted) to see if that rectifies the issue.

Tried both already. no go To make it clear again (maybe my english is not good enough): The "Backup" share existed for a long time on the (UNRAID) Array. Now I have put in a new disk and made it the pool "backpool". Then I have moved over all the files from the various "Backup" folders on the array disk (erasing the empty folders afterwards). I thought that "exclusive share" would be switched on automatically now like it did for many shares before. But no, it remained un-exclusive. I rebootet, still un-exclusive (to make sure that there are no pending connections to the share) Then I wrote the question here 🙂 Edited April 7, 20251 yr by MAM59
April 7, 20251 yr Author Community Expert In case you still are interested... in the mean time I have created a new share "B" on that drive. The share was automatically exclusive. Then I have a hard time shuffling over the Data from Backup to B. The "mv" command of unraid is as stupid as it can be. It is a "copy then delete" thing, safe but wasting time. The real "mv" sees "ooh! source an target are on the same filesystem! i can just rename the files instead of copying terrabytes of data!" This is a serious time killer and without any reason. Why not use the usual "mv" instead??? Anyway, still a few hundred gigs to go...
April 7, 20251 yr Author Community Expert AAAARGGGH!!! Copy finished, I have deleted the Share "backup" (and the folder too) I wanted to rename "B" to "Backup", but UNRAID refuses (just does nothing and clears the Name of the share back to "B"). Done from the shell I get "cannot rename: device busy" (great for a nonexisting folder...!) So I rebooted and guess what ? "Backup" Share was back! Primary Storage "Cache" (it has never been on that drive before!), exclusive! Strange, but still, I can set primary to the correct disks and move over all files again.... Setting primary storage to the correct pool again instantly deletes the exclusive flag!!! There is something seriously going wrong here!!! HELP! (new Diagnostics appended) f-diagnostics-20250407-1626.zip
April 7, 20251 yr Author Community Expert Solution FOUND IT! There is a CrushFTP Docker, which has a link to /mnt/user/Backup (the user's homedirectories are there). So Backup is always busy while the Docker is running. After I moved all files over, deleted "Backup" and rebootet, it was automatically recreated. Just "Backup" not "Backup/FTPHomes" (would have been too easy to find!). Now that I have stopped CrushFTP I was able to delete the Share, Reboot and recreate it (with exclusive flag). Now I have to repopulate it, which will again cost several hours. But again, UNRAID is not very helpful with such a case. (tnx again @itimpi for taking your time to review the diagnostics. But this setting is not in there at all!) Edited April 7, 20251 yr by MAM59
