April 7, 20251 yr I had (2) empty 18TB HDDs that I intended to use for parity, but needed to add one to my array for storage. I have yet to setup any parity and would like to do so soon. I still intend to have dual parity because I have 17 HDDs in my array, but was curious if it is a good idea to set up a single parity drive now and then add another parity drive later. Is it difficult to do it this way? Is it better to wait and do dual parity from the start? Any thing I need to be aware of? Thanks
