Mover slow not moving data

Featured Replies

Hi,

The mover is not working, starts to move a file at speeds of 70MB/s

then after about 15min the speed reduces in the KB/s

my temp are fine on NVME/HD

Also the free space on HD jumps back up and some files are left on the mover.

The file in question is a large 90+ GB full disc movie in folder structure.

I have 435GB free space on HD and set minimum free space at 100GB

Just checked logs and displays no free space left on drive, not understand why considering the above.

You are likely to get informed feedback if you attach your system's diagnostics zip file to your next post in this thread.
It is always a good idea to do this to allow us to see the current state of your system and so we can see logs.

Fix common problems plugin now states:

Unable to write to disk 2 Drive mounted read-only or completely full.

Its not full, the read only I am at a loss.

You should fill up btrfs (or zfs) disks so much, disk1 is at 100% and disk2 98%, don't see any fs errors for now, but they may be unable to accept more data, type

touch /mnt/disk2/a

Does that work?

Also post the output from

btrfs fi usage -T /mnt/disk2

There's still some unallocated space, so it should still be able to write, did the touch command work?

I tried the touch command and created a file "a" but did not make no difference just tried again and will not move, this is frustrating tried  dozen times now.

tried renaming the file but still no luck.

as you can see from screenshot the largest file is on my NVME and will not move to HD, even if I try manual with Unraid's file explorer.

ok update:

transferred to disk 3 and worked, this just not explain why not write to disk 2 with over 400GB of free space, no way leaving that amount untouched.

What is the share name?

00075.m2ts 80.7gb

Name of the share, not the file.

It should go to disk2 based on the settings that you were using, when you have another large file to move, enable the mover logging and try again, then post new diags if it fails, but I would recommend leaving at least 100 or 200GB free on the disk.

I am currently doing another file transfer which is a full 4k disc folder structure to disk 2. Started great again 70MB/s speed then on the last large file drops to 4-5MB/s now just waiting for mover log to display an error when finishes.

the rest of the files are still going and now speeded up and is transferring but the largest file 70+ gb m2ts will not move.

ok thanks for reply but disk 1 was no issues and have only 25gb free space left.

Having 400GB free space left on disk 2 is not a small amount and disapointed and wish I was not using BTRFS.

It CAN happen, it doesn't always happen.
