April 26, 20251 yr Hi all, I woke up this morning finding my unraid server unresposive. The web ui was not accessible. I could ping the server but when I tried to connect to it through ssh it gave me a message saying that connection was refused on port 22. I also had no console. Through IPMI I reset the system and then it could not boot! During the boot procedure the HBA was recognizing all my HDD's but always ends up in this state. Since the HBA sees all disks, and assuming that even if there was a problem with the HBA the server would boot but without being able to see the disks, I assume that there is a problem with the USB boot drive. What do you think ? Thanking you in advance for you help... Vassilis
April 26, 20251 yr Community Expert Solution That shows the server booting to the bult-in UEFI shell, see if the flash drive is still being detected and is the first boot device.
April 26, 20251 yr Author The flash drive looks like it is detected since it appears in the boot options and is the default (only one) boot option. So it seems that the problem lies with the flash drive itself. Edited April 26, 20251 yr by VassilisA
April 26, 20251 yr Author I will try that. I am almost ready to freak out since I realized I have no backup. I had set up my account at connect.myunraid.net to keep a copy of my flash drive. A couple of months ago I downloaded a trial of unraid for a test server that I ended up not using. Somehow this created a huge mess that I just realized. On connect.myunraid.net my server is present (as down) but there is no flash backup and no key because apprently these have been move to account.unraid.net which shows that I don't even have a key! I suspect that when I registered the trial version somehow everything got mixed up and I think that I will be able to find my key, but I am afraid my flash backup has been lost ....
