April 28, 20251 yr Unraid 7.0.1 Disk 10 6TB WD Red read errors (Disk 10 - Read Errors - hoth-diagnostics-20250426-1207.zip) After receiving read errors I swapped cables with another drive. Turned server back on and same disk had read errors (Disk 10 - Read Errors - (2) - hoth-diagnostics-20250428-0748.zip) again. Now granted it is only 2 read errors, but not sure if I feel like that I should look into replacing the drive. April 28, 20251 yr Community Expert You have 124 errors, and they've increased between your diagnostic uploads Error 123 [2] occurred at disk power-on lifetime: 54713 hours (2279 days + 17 hours) When the command that caused the error occurred, the device was active or idle. Error 124 [3] occurred at disk power-on lifetime: 54716 hours (2279 days + 20 hours) When the command that caused the error occurred, the device was active or idle.
April 28, 20251 yr Community Expert Solution With over 6 years of usage and increasing errors, it's probably time to replace that drive. It might be possible to run a bad-blocks check and reformat, to limp along another year or so - depending on what data/usage that drive has. Treat yourself to a bigger drive mate.. (Matching or less than your Parity capacity, if using it in the array).

April 28, 20251 yr Author all of the drives show read errors!!! I don't see anything on the dashboard other than disk 10. I'm using the following boards PCI board - Broadcom / LSI SAS2008 PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS-2 [Falcon] (rev 03). SATA controller: Intel Corporation Alder Lake-S PCH SATA Controller [AHCI Mode] (rev 11) Are these boards going bad? Edited April 28, 20251 yr by mrlionman edit information

April 28, 20251 yr Community Expert Don't know why I didn't think of this! I recently had a load of I/O errors after adding a new drive to my 4-bay icydock.. I reseated the power connectors and data cables and so far, it's been good since. Puzzles me how a running system can develop a bad connection like that..
