May 6, 20251 yr It couldn’t come at a better time as I’m moving and won’t have access to a wired network. Before moving I thought I would test to ensure it works well enough. Well it connects to wifi but if I disconnect cables I lose all connection to the server. I have a static ip set, not sure if that matters. Do I need to add wifi to the bond? I’m at a loss, from what I see it should just work. Edit: Looks like it does work as it should it just gets a dhcp address. I guess what I need to know now is how to set a static ip for the wifi connection. Edited May 6, 20251 yr by SavageAUS
May 6, 20251 yr Community Expert Try setting both to DHCP before disconnecting the cable, but it can take 45 seconds or so for the changeover, see the release notes.

May 6, 20251 yr Community Expert If you reboot with the cable disconnected and the NIC set to static, it should still work.
May 15, 20251 yr Author I seem to have the wifi connection working well enough but my VMs do not have an internet connection. Do I need to change vm settings or add another route?
May 15, 20251 yr Community Expert There are some limitations for Docker and VMs with WiFi, see here: https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/release-notes/7.1.0/#networking
