System upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi,

My question is, is it straight forward to upgrade the motherboard and processor?

I want to move everything as it is across to a better motherboard with a more powerful processor and more ram.

I have a sata card that hosts some of my drives and the rest are hooked upto my current motherboard using the onboard sata sockets. Bios is set to ACHI mode.

Is it as easy as plugging them all in and unraid will identify them or is it more complex?

Thanks in advance

Typically, it's plug and play, as long as no RAID controllers are involved, if you are doing any PCI pass through for VMs, that will likely need adjusting.
