May 10, 20251 yr Hi Running into an issue where, since I've upgraded to 7.1.1, my system is becoming unresponsive and I can't connect either through Unraid Connect or SSH until I give it a full reboot by holding the power button down. For context, I originally upgraded to the 7.1 beta a couple of weeks back to test QuickSync on my Intel Ultra 125h chip and ran into this issue, but it would stay on for 2 days or so and then do the same. I eventually downgraded back to 7.0.1 and had a system uptime of around 2 weeks before upgrading again once the stable release came out. I upgraded and ran into the same issue again. Noticed something in the log about the GPU driver, so I uninstalled GPU Top and removed Plex, having access to the device, to see whether it would become stable. Unfortunately, it's become more and more unstable now, requiring a restart every 20 minutes or so Any help would be appreciated as I can't really see anything in the syslogs that would indicate the issue. I am open to downgrading back to see if I see a stable uptime again Thank you in advance tower-diagnostics-20250510-1343.zip
May 11, 20251 yr Author Hi Syslog server was on, it is currently pointed towards itself. Here's the latest log The problem is that when it crashes, it crashes so hard that it decides not to record anything about the crash in the syslog. The latest crash happened at 12:48 round about today I then turned it back on at 12:53. As you can see, nothing was recorded at that time May 11 12:29:11 Tower flash_backup: adding task: /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.my.servers/scripts/UpdateFlashBackup update May 11 12:53:51 Tower rc.rsyslogd: Syslog server daemon... Started. Full Descrepancy I downgraded back to 7.1.0 yesterday, but it doesn't seem to have fixed any of the issues. Considering downgrading back to the last stable version I was on, which was 7.0.1. Also installed Intel GPU Top back, but not re-enabled hardware transcoding on Plex since uninstalling the Intel GPU plugin made no real difference Here's the latest diagnostic zip as well Thank you tower-syslog-192.168.0.67-20250511-1156.zip tower-diagnostics-20250511-1300.zip
May 11, 20251 yr Community Expert If there's nothing logged, the upgrade may just be a coincidence, but try downgrading to 7.0.1 to confirm.
May 11, 20251 yr Author I've downgraded to 7.0.1 it's been stable again for the past two hours which I know is early but I was lucky to get to 40 minutes at maximum on 7.1.0 and 7.1.1 My best guess is the driver for the meteor lake chipset igpu which becomes supported in 7.1 being the cause of the issue could be wrong Thank you
May 12, 20251 yr Author Still going the next morning over 12 hours later once downgraded. So yeah something in the newest version dislikes my system. Thank you
May 12, 20251 yr Community Expert Solution In that case, suggest remaining on 7.0.x for now and try again once a new release with a newer kernel is out.
May 12, 20251 yr Author Cheers I'll keep an eye on the changelogs because I am currently unable to use quicksync until I can get this resolved. Is there any need for me to submit this as a bug? Thank you
May 12, 20251 yr Community Expert You can create a bug report, but if it's kernel issue, not much that LT can do. https://forums.unraid.net/bug-reports/stable-releases/
May 12, 20251 yr Author I actually started looking online and it seems to be less an unraid issue and more new hardware on Linux issue. I'm just going to have to wait. Marking the downgrade as the solution Thank you for your time
