LincStation N1 Tips

Featured Replies

I recently purchased a LincStation N1 and thought I'd share my experience in case it's helpful to anyone else. I had previously installed Unraid on a GMKTec G9, but that thing ran really hot. I returned it and got a LincStation. Since I already purchased a Starter License I wanted to use my existing USB.

Tip 1: Make sure you plug your USB into the USB port found by the NVMe drives. Near the latches there's a USB port that fits a low profile USB. Thankfully, I had used a low profile USB so this was an easy swap for me. If you don't have a low profile USB, grab one and flash your backup to it and use that port.

Tip 2: The lights on the front didn't work. To make them work you'll need the default USB that came with it. You'll want to copy over the "led" folder and the "reset" folder and the Go file (assuming you don't have anything in your Go file. The Go file has settings to copy those files over after boot. Then you can access the LED config by going to http:[local ip]:50000. It's in another language so use the translate feature in your browser or screenshot it and ask ChatGPT, that's what I did.

Hope this helps!

I have a N2 and I am having issues with the 7 indicator lights Flasing all the time (all drive and network plugged in. all working fine. I als want to turn off the RGB bar (whats the point of it). I contacted LincPlus and they provide me with an address of http://tower.local:50000 . I have tried accesing it locally and on the internet with no joy.

can you advise how I get the "led" folder and the "reset" folder and where is the Go File as I do not seem to have this file.

I too was looking for how to control/interpret the lights. I used http://192.168.0.30:50000 which is the local IP for the server. Very basic interface and I'm not sure how useful it really is or if the changes stick through a reboot/power cycle. There was no USB drive with my Linkstation N1 unless there is a folder on the built in drive which I have not checked for yet.
