Wired and WiFi network priority

Featured Replies

I am setting up a server for someone. I am not 100% sure whether they will use a wired connection or WiFi or even which of their WiFi networks they will be using.

What I would like to have is for the server to:

  1. Use wired connection foremost if available
  2. If wired not available, use either WiFi network 1 or 2, whichever is available

As far as I can tell Unraid will use wired connection foremost if available but it won't automatically switch to an available WiFi network. It seems to stick with the last successfully connected WiFi network even if this is no longer available but other networks are.

Any ideas?

I am not that familiar with all the terminology. I have read the release notes, I couldn't see where it explicitly says it won't automatically switch between WiFi networks but I am assuming that is the case currently?

This is talking about switching between wired and wireless. I am wondering about automatic switching between configured wireless networks.

Sorry, misunderstood the question.

When you start up the system it will try to find any of the known wireless networks, with the last connected network preferred.

Once the system is operational, only manual switching of wireless networks is supported.
