May 23, 20251 yr Hello,I'm building a NAS DiY.I don't yet know which OS to go for (OMV, TrueNas, Unraid).I've been testing UNRAID since yesterday because I find the approach really interesting and especially the flexibility it brings when it comes to disk management. To test the solution, I've only installed 2 NVME SSDs and 1 Sata in a N150 CWWK Motherboard.I defined one NVME 1to as parity disk, the other as cache and I defined the Sata SSD as Disk1 (data).I didn't install anything special, but I'm getting CPU spikes that I can't explain. I have nothing like this under OMV and TrueNAS.So I guess it's a setting or something I've done wrong.I'd like to make sure that everything is ok before subscribing a license.Do you have any clues? Thanks for help Edited May 23, 20251 yr by laurent024
May 23, 20251 yr Community Expert Try booting gin safe mode to rule out any plugin issues, if the same, see if you get them when not on the dashboard, you can use htop for example
May 23, 20251 yr Author Thanks for help.CPU pikes are visible in the GUI in safe mode too. If I disconnect from the GUI, everything is normal. cpu cores do not exceed 1%. If I log in, I have 2-3 cores that go up to 4-5% every 4-5 seconds...
May 23, 20251 yr Author Spikes hardly appear at all during a parity check, for example. And as soon as it's over, it starts all over again. At the beginning, the parity check was in progress and ended halfway through the graph.
May 23, 20251 yr Community Expert If it also does in safe mode not sure what it could be, cannot duplicate, try removing the shares information tile from the dash, I believe there was a report of someone seeing some CPU spikes due to the streams info.
