Issue with a pool drive constant errors!

Featured Replies

so my cache pool had 2 devices and they where in raid 1 (correct me if I'm wrong 1 drive storage 1 drive as a backup) and i wanted both drives for storage i didn't know how todo this in 1 pool so i split in in to 2 pools (witch has ended up working better for me) but now i just get not installed warning and issues all the time to the point my logs fill up and the server crashes. i have tried doing new config and not adding it but the issue persists.

i didn't even know what to search for this issue so if there is a solution i couldn't find it. if you know i would appreciate a point in the right direction or if you know how how to fix it then that would be amazing thank you!

Please post the diagnostics with the array started.

oh my bad i was supposed to attach them in the first post

heres some new ones

friday-diagnostics-20250529-0826.zip

and a screen shot of the log file system

i believe this is also causing the mover to not be working as everything is just staying in cache

With the array running type:

btrfs balance start -f -dconvert=single,soft -mconvert=dup /mnt/cache

When that is done, type:

btrfs dev remove missing /mnt/cache

Then post new diags, array still running.

on that, thank you

i assume this may take a little bit so while i have you i want to ask if this is recommended i currently have 2 6tb drive 1 2tb and 1 1tb soon i will be upgrading the 1tb to a 10tb should i take the 1 tb out clone it to the 10tb and add the 10tb back in or just rip the 1tb out and stick the 10tb in restart and add the 10tb in the 1tb place and let it rebuild?

Look for the pool activity to stop.

Yep, it's done, now you just need to reimport the pool:

on main click on the first device for that pool and then "remove pool"

back on main, create a new pool with the same name and 1 slot

assign the pool device, leave the filesystem set to auto

start the array to import the pool

The log is being spammed by the mover tuning plugin:

Assuming tit's for the array, just replace and rebuild.
