Hey,

I'm trying to pass through GPU to my Windows 11 VM but keep getting the following error when I try to start the VM (it works fine using VNC):

Execution error

internal error: Unknown PCI header type '127' for device '0000:03:00.0'

Hardware Used:

Intel 265K with integrated graphics (used as primary GPU for Unraid)

Gigabyte RX7600XT GPU

Gigabyte B860M AORUS ELITE WIFI6E ICE (latest BIOS)

I checked out various guides/old threads and tried all the usual changes (using vbios, acs override, etc) but couldn't make it work.

Maybe someone can help, if you encountered similar error or used the same hardware?

Either I'm missing something very obvious, or this particular combination of hardware is a bad match for this.

In an ideal word i would prefer to have daily PC and server on separate machines but not possible because of my current living situation.

im not using any AMD Hardware (anymore) as its just too often critical in passthrough ... but this error means, Reset Issue.

you can try

or try playing with VM's options like

q35 vs i4400

ovmf vs seabios

so these would be 4 constellations to test ...

then, may try boot Unraid in legacy instead ovmf, woul dbe another 4 ..

so, you did vfio bind the card, also used multifunction, all looking ok ... rest is AMD ... sorry.

I tried AMD Vendor Reset but no luck.

Also q35 vs i4400 makes no different.

Regarding SeaBIOS it doesn't let me install Win11 at all.

Also tried to make AMD main GPU and pass through Intel IGPU, still running into some errors (different one this time) so it might not be only AMD related issue 😩

Igpu passthrough is ... since Skylake not really supported anymore ...

There are ways, but not trivial 😉

I was also having issues with passthrough on my rx 7600. After some troubleshooting i was able to make it work after adding the <rom bar='off'/> as mentioned here even while keeping ReBAR enable on the uefi of the host, the only downside of this is that i get the video output only after the VM load the GPU driver.
