ZFS with no array - how to create shares on ZFS without FUSE

Featured Replies

Hello All,

My UNRAID 7 server has 3 ZFS pools. I don't have an ARRAY or a PARITY disk. I'm still seeing the SHFS process running and am not able to activate the 'Exclusive Share". I would to access my shares via /mnt/poolname/share name and bypass FUSE and SHFS.

I have a SSD raid1 mirror for VM's and Docker (but not cache pools in front of shares)

I then have 2 more RAIDz ppols that have my shares spread across. These all use the /mnt/user/sharename in the share configuration. Is there a way and / or benefit of addressing these shares directly (i.e. /mnt/poolname/share).

Somewhere I read about creating a link from one to the other but I don't want to mess anything up.

Thanks,

Clayton

If the shares are on one pool only, you can use exclusive shares, those will bypass FUSE

I am unable to click on the checkbox to make them exclusive. That is what I'm trying to do.

Have you enabled permit exclusive shares in the global settings?

You don't check any box, as long as exclusive shares are enabled as shown above, NFS is disabled for that share, and it only exists in one pool, it will enable automatically.

Thanks. I've never noticed this option.
