Migrating Unraid to new box and Mobo

Featured Replies

My current config is attached. This is what I'm migrating to:

  • Mobo: EVGA X299 Dark New(ish)

  • CPU: Intel® Core i9-10980XE CPU @ 3.00GHz (same)

  • Controller: LSI 9300-16i 16-Port 12Gb/s SAS Controller

  • Drive: Same but will add Four 8TB (Maybe larger)

  • Migrating Pool from SSD SATA to NVME

  • Case: from FD Node 804 to Josnbo N5

Is there anything I should be looking out for during the migration process?

Spaceinvader made a video on this awhile ago. It is a bit older but the information is still relevant. Here

is that video. Most of the Issues are for VMs and graphics cards. If I were you I would get it running exactly as you had it including the SSD pool. After it is all good do the pool upgrade and add the extra data drives after.

Unbind any devices you may have passed through to VMs from the Tools > System Devices page.

Take a screenshot of your current disk assignments on the Main Page.

Verify BIOS settings are compatible with unraid's requirements before booting up. (Disable XMP/EXPO/DOCP, Disable Fastboot, etc, Enable VT-d, VT-x, etc)

Thanks. Just confirmed my previous findings and run of show. I'll let you know how it goes.
