August 17, 2025Aug 17 Hi,Running a unRaid 7.1.4, I5-12400 with 64GB RAM, 3 HDD and 1 NVME (appdata).Having issues with system stutter/slowdown issues, I have a Minecraft server running in an AMP container and it has 12GB ram allocated and every couple of minutes the system will freeze and then speed backup, for example the dashboard of unRaid, the core usage will freeze in place then speed back up suddenly, the system stats will also freeze then speed back up to catch up the 5-10 seconds it has missed due to the freeze. The server has allocated 13GB RAM, and never hits the limit, or reachs above 30% CPU usage (a few spikes to 30% but typically hovers around 5-10%)This issue was happening a week or two ago, and I did a restart which seemed to have fixed it but it's back. One thing I have noticed is that when the issue does occurs, the network usage will plumet down, but the cpu usage doesn't really move much (system stats attached, within the 1:30 hours timeframe it stuttered around 20-25 times.I have a different minecraft server container and the issues repeat on that one as well.Any assistance greatly appreciated. August 17, 2025Aug 17 Author I have attached a clip to show what the stutter is like on the unraid page, this is during the stutter where everything freezes and just speeds backup UnraidIssue.mp4

August 17, 2025Aug 17 Author I just uninstalled tailscale from the container, and now it seems to be working fine with no issues. Totally bizzare...
August 18, 2025Aug 18 Author Unfortunately the issue is still occurring, diagnostics attached. tower-diagnostics-20250818-1029.zip
August 18, 2025Aug 18 Community Expert Nothing jumps out to me in the diags; I recommend booting in safe mode and retesting to rule out a plugin issue.
August 18, 2025Aug 18 Author Unfortunately issue remains. Surely my NAS can handle a minecraft server? I'm the only one playing on it so there's no one else. Do we think my CPU (I5-12400) is the problem ?

August 18, 2025Aug 18 Author People think that the cpu is more than enough and should be fine. I just had a stutter there and it kicked me from the server, and I also couldn't connect to the webpage. It took about 20 seconds to come back but the system didn't crash, or did the server (it was still running and seemed like nothing had happened). Could it potentially be a network issue? Any suggestions.
August 18, 2025Aug 18 Community Expert Just now, Specthildur said:Could it potentially be a network issue? It could, but if that's the case it's most likely an external issue, or it should leave something logged.
August 18, 2025Aug 18 Author Is there any network log at all that could advise of it? syslog shows nothing wrong. Edited August 18, 2025Aug 18 by Specthildur
August 19, 2025Aug 19 Community Expert If the issue is related to the Unraid network/NIC it should be logged in the syslog.
