Cache Pool appdata missing

Featured Replies

So weird issue, I dont want to format before trying some things. I reboot my server because the docker service stop and couldn't start it up with command line.

After the reboot, one of my ssd from my cache pool didnt get recognize, so I power off, redo the connection and boot it back.

After launching the array, it said cache pool unmountable and need to format disk.

Now, I have the appdata share and says its on disk 8 but there is nothing, I dont want to loose many years of data there (im for sure setting a backup after)

So is there something I can do or its dead haha.

Thanks in advance

Last time I had errors like yours my SSD was dead.

Diagnosis doesn't look good. Kingston isn't particularly well known for their "reliable" ssds.

A format at this point probably won't fix anything but wait for JorgeB to see this and hope he has a better solution than "buy a new ssd"

I would try a new cable and/or port but I dont think she's coming back.

Cache drive dropped offline before:

Aug 27 01:03:29 Macky-Unraid kernel: ata10: softreset failed

Aug 27 01:03:29 Macky-Unraid kernel: ata10: reset failed, giving up

Aug 27 01:03:29 Macky-Unraid kernel: ata10.00: disable device

Aug 27 01:03:29 Macky-Unraid kernel: ata10: EH complete

This is typically a power/connection issue, replace its cables.

Regarding the Docker issue, post current diags, but if the appdata is all there, you may just need to reinstall the apps from previous apps; likely a new Docker image was created when the pool was missing:

https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/manual/docker-management/#re-create-the-docker-image-file

Then:

https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/manual/docker-management/#re-installing-docker-applications

Also see below if you have any custom docker networks:
