Installed a PCI-E card with a 400GB SSD attached to it for use as cache, but the system does not detect

Featured Replies

I have installed a PCI-E card with a 400GB SSD attached to it for use as cache, but the system does not detect the SSD on that card. Could you kindly advise me on how to mount it in unRAID? I am attaching the diagnostics file for your reference.

Respectfully,

Can you post a link for the card and SSD you are using?

Pretty sure those are not supported, but I'm not seeing the device detected on lspci

Thank for your support, and how about HP Z Turbo Drive G2 PCIe Adapter Card M.2 NVMe

Can unRaid support that card.

If it's a transparent NVMe adapter, it will work.

Zeroth Oughts

Modding the HP Z Turbo G2 M.2 PCIe Adapter | Zeroth Oughts

This HP card mounts in a PCIe expansion slot and provides a M.2 NVME socket. But then it gets weird - HP locked these so they could only be used with HP Z4x0s. Or did they?

The HP card in question here is about a decade old and can be had for about $12 on eBay. However, however, HOWEVER: HP - in their infinite idiocy - actually spent money and time making sure this particular card wouldn’t work outside of a HP Z4xx workstation.

Skip the proprietary junk, get a generic PCIe to nvme, it's even cheaper and passive.
