September 25, 2025Sep 25 I did the unthinkable stupid mistake of panicking after a failed load and copying over a new version onto my flash disk without backing it up first. I'm not sure what happened, but when I copy/pasted the new files over, it removed things, too. My Plus1.key disappeared and my appdata folder was removed. The end result is I've got all my drives, all my data, but no backup of the flash nor do I have an image of what disks were where. I've got 2 3TB drives - one was my cache and the other my parity. I'm lost and freaked out - what should I do next?

Cache would be a pool separate from the parity array, and the array can't have only a parity drive. Do you mean you have an array with parity and one array data disk? If that is the case, the parity would be a mirror of that single data disk, so it shouldn't matter which you assign. If you don't have a flash backup you will have to set everything up again. Contact support about your .key
September 25, 2025Sep 25 Author Apologies - I have a single Parity drive, a single cache drive, and 5 drives in my data array. I do have my original plus1.key file from the original email. That's been recovered - it's my data i'm worried about. Edited September 25, 2025Sep 25 by BiPolar

Since you have the licence key file then you can follow the procedure described here to get your drives sorted. If at any stage you have questions feel free to ask them
September 25, 2025Sep 25 Author For "parity is valid" - is that only if I know the new drive assignements for the array are correct? I selected "ALL" under New Config, but it only allowed me to select DONE and not APPLY. I don't know if the drives are assigned accurately.

You need to do that to enable the Apply option. If in doubt do not initially assign a parity drive as getting that wrong can lead to losing any data on it.
September 25, 2025Sep 25 Author NewConfig doesn't give me a "I want to do this" checkbox :( It does say "array has been reset" to the right of the DONE.I am positive that my parity drive is correct, though. Edited September 25, 2025Sep 25 by BiPolar

If you return to the Main tab and the drives all have blue icons then you are good to make changes and then commit the changes by starting the array.
September 25, 2025Sep 25 Author Solved it! Thank you so much! Love this community. Also, turns out I had appdata backup on my previous build and everything has reloaded and been brought back as if I'd skip no beats. Edited September 26, 2025Sep 26 by BiPolar
