October 28, 2025Oct 28 Community Expert Hi all i previously made a post about unclean shutdowns happening at random times (normally happens after a few weeks of uptime) im still encountering this frequently still the tests i have carried out is: changing the PSU to a known good one, running memtest (3 passes), swapping the ram out entirely, updating unraid OS, downgrading the OS, ive checked all my containers running and VMs and there doesn't seem like an issue is present. The only items Ive never swapped out is my motherboard and CPU.Ive also switched fast boot off and XMP in the bios too.I forgot to mention when it does do a unclean shutdown it always restarts which is what is confusing me as id have thought it would stay off if it was something serious.Im at a loss on what to do next I've also setup a syslog server on unraid and pointed it to my firewall but i get no useful info to point towards a cause just a gap between it crashing and it rebooting. I have other equipment running from the same power source too that has never had any problems so i doubt its bad AC, if anyone could look over my diagnostics id really appreciate it.nas-diagnostics-20251028-1040.zip Edited October 28, 2025Oct 28 by Tombadds
October 28, 2025Oct 28 Author Community Expert id like to say i know this looks like a hardware issue, i just wanted opinions if this is a bug/fixable before i end up switching my motherboard/cpu out as im not flowing in cash :(

It could also be the Intel 13/14 gen issue, though typically the K models are more affected by that, it's still worth looking for a bios update, it can sometimes help with those issues if the CPU is not too far gone.

In term of it restarting you should check that you do not have the BIOS set to automatically start the server if power is present.
